Elaine MacDonald has accepted the position of CEO of The Knowledge Pledge. An accomplished executive, board member and advisor with a significant track record in delivering breakthrough results, MacDonald is TKP’s first CEO.
MacDonald joins TKP after spending seven years leading the Harvard Business School Community Partners of Northern California, an organization that empowers HBS alumni to use their business skills for social good. During that time, Elaine doubled alumni volunteer engagement and the number of nonprofits served.
Prior to her focus on the social impact sector, MacDonald was an operating leader in the consumer goods and services sector and global management consultant. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning and business development, marketing strategy, brand equity building and differentiation, product innovation, and the launch of innovative marketing programs.
“I am thrilled to join The Knowledge Pledge and enable TKP to realize its mission to share knowledge, scale impact and shape the world,” says MacDonald. “This is a world-class opportunity to help bring teams of experts together with leading social entrepreneurs to make a material difference.”
MacDonald earned her bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and also received her MBA from Harvard. MacDonald is on the alumni board of Harvard Business School, a partner at Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund, a board member of the Woodside High School Foundation, and a member of Ascend.
